Of books and their titles..!

I have a feeling that authors spend more time in coming up with a catchy title for their book than spending time on writing the book itself. One example that comes to my mind is 'The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari'.. Most of the reviews for the book have been quite critical and I fail to understand how this book has been in the limelight. I even heard that Tamil comedian Vivek presented this book to former President Abdul Kalam.

Anyways, on a lighter note.. Here are some funny/unique book titles that i came across..

*How to kill your husband (and other handy household hints) by Kathy Lette

* When Your Phone Doesn't Ring, It'll Be Me by Cynthia Heimel

* Women Are from Venus, Men Are from Hell by Amanda Newman

* If God was a Banker by Ravi Subramanian

*How to Write a How to Write Book by Brian Paddock

So, How many such names can u remember? :-)

If it is like five point some1 then they can be spared as inside the cover there is content.. But some are utter non sense.. Like 'the unscrupulous americans'..

There was a book called 'who moved my cheese? "

There was another book that some author wrote titled " I moved your cheese .. " :-)

Nice one.

To add on to that list, i found this title interesting and as an eye catcher too.

I Bought The Monks Ferrari by Ravi Subramanian
And he's done a good job explaining what the ferrari means.

Oh i need to mention this...
After all the self help books that one would find, there are many which are just the opposite.

Some that say, how reading that one book cannot make a pessimistic person change his line of thoughts! Sm facts are disturbing ;)

hello!! the monk who sold his ferrari was actually a good "how to" book, ya it didnt have literary value but the techniques are worth a thought!! grr...
I agree with the spending more time thinking up a title part ;-)
